3Phase 4Wire Kwh Meter:Accurately measure your electricity consumption
Three-phase four-wire electricity meters measure power consumption in systems utilizing three AC phase wires and one neutral wire. This configuration is common in industrial and commercial buildings, providing two distinct voltages: the higher voltage between any two phases, and the lower voltage between any phase wire and the neutral wire. These meters are typically multifunctional, capable of monitoring active energy, reactive energy
, voltage, current, and power factor, and can be designed for bidirectional metering.
How It Works:
Four-Wire System: The system includes three phase lines (L1, L2, L3) and one neutral line (N), capable of simultaneously connecting three-phase loads (such as large motors) and single-phase loads (such as standard lighting and outlets).
Voltage: A three-phase four-wire system provides two voltage levels. For example, in a 230/400V system, 400V exists between any two phases, while 230V exists between any phase and the neutral line.
Metering: The meter connects to all three phase lines and the neutral line. By measuring the voltage and current on each circuit, it calculates the total power consumption and other electrical parameters for the entire system.
Data Display: A digital display (typically a backlit LCD) shows measured values. Some modern meters are “smart,” supporting networking and enabling remote monitoring and data logging via applications.
Features:
RS485 Remote Meter Reading: Convenient operation with broad application scenarios
LCD Display: High-precision screen for accurate active power measurement
Compact and lightweight design: Suitable for various industrial and energy production environments
Flame-retardant PC housing: Constructed from premium polycarbonate material, offering impact resistance, high/low temperature tolerance, and excellent insulation properties to ensure electrical safety
Primary Application Scenarios
Industrial production lines: Used to monitor factory production lines, providing real-time energy consumption data for each line to formulate energy-saving strategies.
Commercial complexes and office buildings: Commercial spaces like malls and office towers typically house multiple high-energy-consumption devices such as air conditioners and elevators.
High-load residential areas: Used for precise measurement and management of three-phase electricity in high-consumption residential zones.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and workshops: Suitable for SMEs and workshops primarily powered by lighting and electric heating equipment.
Three-phase four-wire kilowatt-hour meters have evolved from traditional mechanical meters into modern devices integrating high-precision measurement, bidirectional power flow management, multi-parameter monitoring, and remote intelligent communication.
They serve not only as the “fair scales” for electricity transactions but also as the cornerstone for enterprises to achieve refined energy management, reduce energy consumption, and ensure power supply safety. Within the context of smart grids and sustainable development, they play an irreplaceable role.
